About us
About Dancing Digits
Dancing Digits is the brainchild of Rebecca Hart, founder of the company – a leading provider of creative education for over 25 years.
A passionate advocate for movement-based learning and an experienced performing arts teacher, Rebecca wanted to bring maths to life for children in a fun, engaging way – making it an enriched, multi-sensory learning experience.
Based on research
The idea for Dancing Digits began in 2006 and draws on Rebecca’s extensive work delivering movement-based learning in nurseries and schools, alongside research in real-life educational settings.
Our programme is also supported by year-long research conducted in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire schools with the Education Endowment Foundation, an independent charity that supports schools and early years settings to improve teaching and learning.
Our Belief
At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief: a happy start in maths sets the foundation for a lifelong positive relationship with numbers – helping to reduce the risk of maths anxiety later on.
Since 2006, we’ve been running classes in schools – helping school children to feel good about maths by making it active, creative, and fun! Since 2020 we’ve offered classes across the East Midlands for parents and children, as well as sessions in early years settings.
Awards & Research
Over the years, we have been fortunate to receive funding and support for the research and development of the Dancing Digits learning programme, including a research project with the Education Endowment Foundation.
Along the way, our work has been recognised through awards and professional accreditation, further affirming the quality, innovation, and impact of the programme.
